Privacy
This site collects very little. If you subscribe, we keep your email address so we can send you the daily email. We don't sell or share it, and there are no advertising trackers here.
What we collect, and why
Your email address, if you subscribe. We use it to send the daily email and for nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
How subscribers found us. When you subscribe we record the site or campaign link that first brought you here and the page you landed on. This is stored without your email address, so it tells us which sources bring subscribers but not who came from where.
Votes. When you press “I want this” we add one to that use case's count. We keep no lasting record of who voted; the only trace is the short-lived abuse counter described below.
Submissions. If you submit a use case we keep the link, your description, and the name or handle you give, which is shown as credit on the entry. The name is optional.
Visitor statistics. We count page views, referring sites, countries and device types in aggregate. This uses no cookies and does not follow you to other sites.
Your internet address, briefly. To stop automated abuse of the signup, voting and submission forms, we count requests per IP address, and for votes, per IP address and use case. Those counters expire within two days.
What stays in your browser
Your saved use cases, which ones you voted for, whether you have subscribed, and how you first arrived are kept in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them. Clearing your browser's site data removes them. There are no accounts and no tracking cookies.
Who handles the data
Three services run parts of this site and process data on our behalf: Resend sends the email and holds the subscriber list, Vercel hosts the site and provides the visitor statistics, and Upstash stores vote counts, submissions and the abuse counters.
We don't sell personal data or pass it to anyone else.
Your choices
Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. To have your email address or a submission deleted, or to ask what we hold about you, write to a@alexfinn.ai.
The use cases themselves
Entries here summarize posts and articles that people published openly, in our own words, with a link to the original. If one describes something you wrote and you want it corrected or taken down, write to a@alexfinn.ai and we will sort it out.
