Analyze YouTube thumbnails from channel analytics
Grok Bot connected to YouTube analytics compared top-video thumbnails' CTR against the channel average and offered new thumbnail ideas.
Done withGrok Bot
- What they did
- Grok Bot was connected to Video Stats by chatting: the user asked it to add a custom MCP server, pasted the URL, and authorized a channel in the browser. Video Stats then supplied thumbnail images with each video's results. On Justin Brown's Primal Video channel, the user asked what was working in the top 90-day thumbnails. Grok Bot compared them with the channel average and offered to sketch new concepts.
- How it went
- Grok Bot reported a 5.1% average impression CTR against 14 to 19% for the winners, led by CapCut Pad. It found that two top thumbnails shared a system and flagged one vertical thumbnail that underperformed.
- Worth knowing
- You need a Video Stats account, and Grok Bot is in beta. The write-up shows chat screenshots and doesn't say whether the new thumbnail ideas were actually used.
