Find laid-off LinkedIn prospects and draft outreach

Comet scanned LinkedIn posts through her logged-in account, pulled names and links, and drafted outreach notes for review in under a minute.

What they did
Joanna Stern, researching a book on AI taking over, told the Comet sidebar assistant to find LinkedIn posts from people laid off from customer service jobs because of AI, then draft notes to them. It scanned posts and comments, pulled names and links, and wrote drafts in the sidebar. She could have it send them by turning on screenshot mode on the LinkedIn pages. She chose to edit and approve everything herself.
How it went
In under a minute it returned a few names and links with draft messages ready to review. ChatGPT Agent Mode found similar leads, but its virtual browser can't use her own logged-in accounts.
Worth knowing
Comet needed the $200-a-month Perplexity Max plan or a waitlist spot at the time, and Stern says it has its own privacy issues.

Try it yourself with Perplexity Comet

Using my logged-in LinkedIn account, scan recent posts about [topic, e.g. layoffs in my industry] and list [number] people with name, profile link and a one-line summary of their situation. Draft a short, respectful outreach note for each one tailored to their post. Show me all drafts for review and do not send any messages.
