Auto-reply to WooCommerce customer emails with order lookups
A self-hosted OpenClaw agent answers incoming store emails by looking up order details, and can email confirmations to customers with orders still processing.
Done withOpenClaw
- What they did
- OpenClaw runs on a VPS with the WordPress and WooClaw-Lite skills, which give it check_order, find_product and store_status. An Agentmail inbox sends a webhook for each incoming email. A system prompt tells the agent to look up the order and reply in the thread, and to acknowledge refunds and complaints and flag them for a human. A manual mode handles batch confirmations.
- How it went
- The source's example is a shipping-status email that gets a reply with tracking and delivery details. The batch prompt for processing orders is said to replace 20-30 minutes of dashboard work. It reports no measured results from a real store.
- Worth knowing
- Use a dedicated WordPress user with limited permissions, and a webhook token so only Agentmail can trigger the agent. The VPS needs Docker and at least 2 GB RAM.
Try it yourself with OpenClaw
Watch the inbox at [store support email address] for new customer emails about [WooCommerce store name]. For each one, look up the customer's order in WooCommerce using [order number or customer email], then draft a reply with the real order status and details. Save every draft for my review and show me the drafts; do not send any email, including confirmations to customers whose orders are still processing, until I approve it. Stop once all emails from the last [number] days have a draft.
