Reserve a restaurant table through OpenTable

In a demo, Operator booked a 7 p.m. table at Beretta in San Francisco via OpenTable, first searching the wrong region before correcting and asking for approval.

What they did
Yash Kumar of OpenAI asked Operator to book Beretta in San Francisco around 7 p.m. through OpenTable. Operator opened a remote browser, went to OpenTable and searched, but OpenTable was set to Iowa. Using a San Francisco zip code Kumar had given it earlier, Operator switched regions by itself and sent the reservation for his approval.
How it went
Operator found the right setting without help and stopped for approval before booking. It did not find the restaurant on the first search. This was a staged demo, not a real-world test.
Worth knowing
Operator is a research preview for US ChatGPT Pro subscribers at $200 a month. It leaves logins, payment details and CAPTCHAs to the user.

Try it yourself with Operator

Book a table for [number] people at [restaurant name] in [city] on [date] at [time] using OpenTable. Double-check the city and location before searching, and if that time is unavailable, show me the closest options. Pause and show me the reservation details for approval before you confirm.
