Screen job applications and summarize in a digest
A hiring manager used Zapier Agents to pull in applications on a schedule, summarize them, filter out mismatches, and optionally reply to applicants.
Done withZapier Agents
- What they did
- The author is a hiring manager. They had earlier done this with Apple Mail and Claude, and here they moved it to Zapier AI Agents. Instead of building a workflow with loops and branches, they describe the task in plain language. The plan is a daily, weekly or biweekly trigger that pulls in the past period's applications, summarizes them, and sends a digest that leaves out irrelevant candidates. Replying to each applicant with a refusal or an interview invitation is optional.
- How it went
- The post sets out the idea and the setup only. It reports no results, numbers, or testing of the replies, so how well it works is not shown.
Try it yourself with Zapier Agents
Create a Zapier Agent that checks [application source, e.g. Gmail label or form responses] every [day/week] for new job applications for [role]. Have it summarize each one, filter out candidates who don't meet [must-have criteria], and send me a digest with the remaining ones. Do not email any applicant without showing me the draft and getting my approval first.
