Start deep research tasks on your computer from your phone
Users message Claude Cowork from their phone to start a deep research task that works across files, browser, tools, dashboards and code on their machine, then returns a summary.
Done withClaude Cowork
- What they did
- Claude Cowork runs as one persistent conversation on the user’s computer: they install Claude Desktop, pair it with their phone, then message from mobile to start work that can use local files, a browser, tools, internal dashboards, and code. The post says Claude works inside a secure sandbox on the machine, keeps files local, and asks for approval before touching anything.
- How it went
- Anthropic positions it for kicking off deep research from your phone and returning later to a polished summary on desktop. In comments, users said the feature was useful and worked once pairing appeared, but rollout was slow, the computer had to stay online, and Cowork was still limited to the home directory or C:\ drive.
- Worth knowing
- At launch it was a research preview for Max subscribers, with Pro said to be coming in the following days.
Try it yourself with Claude Cowork
I'll message you from my phone with research questions. For each one, search my files in [folder paths], the web, and tools like [dashboards or data sources], run any analysis needed, and cross-check the findings. Finished means a clear summary with sources and the key numbers, plus a file saved to [location]. Don't change or delete any of my files while researching.
