Book restaurants, research and build sites with ChatGPT Dots
The author tested Dots on a restaurant booking, research and site-building; booking completed slowly, research and building were useful, calling failed.
Done withDots
- What they did
- On launch day the author set up a Dot, which is an always-on ChatGPT agent with its own cloud computer and browser. He gave it a research brief, a website and quiz build, and a restaurant booking. The Dot saved research steps to its workspace. He could take over the browser to log in or click, then hand control back.
- How it went
- Research and site design worked well. The booking completed, but it took about five minutes to reach the booking page. The call button never connected, and the avatar took 20–30 minutes. He wouldn't switch yet.
- Worth knowing
- Dots need ChatGPT Pro or Business Premium and aren't available in some regions. App connections are hidden in the plugins section, and the Dot suggested Zapier MCP.
Try it yourself with Dots
Find and book a table for [number] at a [cuisine] restaurant in [city] on [date] around [time]. Check the options first and show me your top pick, and pause before submitting any reservation or sharing my details. If you can't book online, tell me what you found and the phone number rather than calling. Finish by confirming the booking details or listing what blocked you.
