Find forgotten money and negotiate insurance refunds

Users had personal agents like Meta's Muse search state databases for forgotten money and negotiate an insurance cancellation refund, recovering hundreds of dollars.

Done withMeta Muse

What they did
Eric Allen asked Meta's Muse agent to search state government databases for unclaimed money, and it ran the scan for his wife too. Separately, Frank Chien had Muse phone his insurer, Amtrust, to cancel a workers comp policy and get a refund. When the first approach failed, the agent proposed a different route.
How it went
Allen's scan took six minutes and found about $730 in store credit, a $272 refund and about $800 for his wife. Chien saved about $800. Muse's phone calls are early access, and Meta has tested using humans for some calls.
Worth knowing
Some users connected bank accounts through Plaid or gave the agent bank access, a privacy tradeoff. Meta is also reportedly testing humans on some Muse calls.
