Investigate market moves and alerts with an agent on your charts

OpenChart lets Claude or Codex annotate chart setups, write indicators, and investigate price alerts, saving research to a local workspace.

Done with a custom-built or unnamed agent

What they did
OpenChart is a desktop charting app that connects to your own Claude, Codex or Gemini account. You tell the agent what to watch, and it writes Tea monitors (the project's market-analysis language) that evaluate incoming data. When an alert fires, the agent researches the move. You can also select a chart range or draw a line or zone, and the agent pins source-linked annotations to the bars.
How it went
The README is a product description and reports no results or measurements. It says there are no software limits on charts, indicators or alerts. I did not find anything on the quality of the agent's research.
Worth knowing
Desktop is free, but AI usage is billed under your agent provider's plan, and optional Cloud market data costs extra. The prebuilt download is macOS Apple Silicon only.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

I keep my charts and notes in a local folder at [folder path]. When a price alert fires on [ticker or asset], investigate what moved it by checking recent news, volume, and levels on [timeframe] charts, then save a short research note in that folder with your findings and the chart levels you marked. You're done when the note covers the likely cause, key support and resistance, and what to watch next. This is research only, so do not place any trades.
