Write appeals and phone insurers on denied claims
Counterforce Health's AI writes appeal letters against claim denials and a voice agent calls the insurer to follow up for the user.
Done with a custom-built or unnamed agent
- What they did
- Counterforce Health's founders trained the AI on service-code databases, external-review databases and legal filings from lawsuits against insurers. Users pick a common denial, such as a miscoded surgery, or upload their policy, medical records and denial letter. The AI writes a cited appeal letter in under a minute. A voice AI called Maxwell phones the insurer to follow up, and it is still being tested.
- How it went
- Since the January beta, thousands of people have used the letter generator, and three small clinics use it regularly. Maxwell is still in testing, and the founders say they are working on accuracy. The article gives no appeal win rates.
- Worth knowing
- The service is free to users. CareYaya's impact fund pays a few cents per letter and $1.50 per 10 minutes of Maxwell calls.

My insurer [name] denied my claim [claim number] for [service]. Write an appeal letter from the denial reason and my policy text below, and then a short phone script for calling the insurer to check on the appeal's status. Stop once I have both documents, and show me anything before it's submitted or sent. [paste denial letter and policy text]
